Tales of Teaching Practice Phase 2 week 6 part 2

Day 26 of My Teaching Practice

18.07.2024                                                                           Thursday

Today, I arrived at school at 8:45 a.m. My allotted period was the second period in class 9G, where I conducted a problem-solving session on "Product of a Sum and Difference." The students remembered the identity but needed help translating word problems into equations. Once set up, they successfully applied the identity to solve the problems.

The discussion on the second problem extended into the next period, so I continued in class 9G during the fourth period, addressing doubts and clarifying previous questions.

I assisted with serving the noon meal and had substitution duty in class 9F during the sixth period. After the bell and national anthem at 3:15 p.m., I performed line duty and signed the register before leaving at 3:45 p.m.

Day 27 of My Teaching Practice

19.07.2024                                                                               Friday

Today was the 27th day of my teaching practice. I reached the school at 8:45 a.m. My allotted teaching period was during the 6th period in class 9G.

I had substitution duties in class 6C during the first period and in class 7B during the third period. At noon, I assisted with serving the meal.

During the 6th period in my allotted class, I conducted a problem-solving session on "Product of a Sum and Difference" from the chapter on multiplication identities. The session included reasoning questions. The students initially struggled with the questions, so I helped them understand. Once they grasped the concepts, they created their own examples but had trouble proving them algebraically. I guided them through the process, and by solving several problems, they learned to determine how the product changes with consecutive and non-consecutive numbers.

Since it was the last session of the chapter, I used the remaining time to revise the topics we had covered. I also scheduled an achievement test for the next working day.

At 3:15 p.m., the bell rang, and after the national anthem, I performed line duty. After signing the attendance register, I left the school premises by 3:45 p.m.

Overall, it was a productive day filled with teaching, problem-solving, and preparation for the upcoming test.
