Tales of Teaching Practice Phase 2 week 7 part 2
Day 31 of My Teaching Practice
25.07.2024 Thursday
Today was the 31st day of my teaching practice. I reached the school at 8:45 a.m. My allotted period was during the second period in class 9G. I conducted a problem-solving session on the topic of addition and subtraction. The problems were based on geometrical figures and their lengths using rational numbers. The students were actively engaged in the session and communicated their reasoning effectively.
It was the last session of the chapter, and I completed all the portions assigned to me during the teaching practice, which made me very happy. At the end of the session, I revised the questions we discussed that day.
During the third period, I had substitution duty in 6E, and at noon, I helped serve the noon meal. I had substitution duty in 7G during the fifth period and in 8E during the seventh period. At 3:15 p.m., after the bell rang and the national anthem was sung, I performed line duty. After signing the attendance register, I left the school premises by 3:45 p.m.
Day 32 of My Teaching Practice
26.07.2024 Friday
Today was the 32nd day of my teaching practice. I arrived at the school by 8:45 a.m. and was assigned substitution duty in my allotted class during the first period. Since my teaching portions were complete, I focused on helping students with extra questions. I had previously provided them with worksheets, so today was dedicated to reviewing these questions with the class. It turned into a productive revision session where students demonstrated a solid understanding of the material.
During the second period, I covered a substitution duty in class 3D. At noon, I assisted with serving the meal, which is always a nice break from academic duties.
In the sixth period, I was assigned substitution duty in class 5A. Throughout the day, I found myself reflecting on how these various duties contribute to my overall teaching experience. Each interaction, whether through direct teaching or assisting with other tasks, adds valuable experience to my practice.
At 3:15 p.m., after the bell and the national anthem, I performed line duty. I signed the attendance register and left the school premises by 3:45 p.m.
Reflecting on today, I feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. It was fulfilling to see the students engage with the revision materials so effectively. These moments reinforce my commitment to teaching and remind me of the impact I can have on my students' learning journeys.
Day 33 of Teaching Practice
27.07.2024 Saturday
Today was a working Saturday, and we had a special assembly promoting Olympic awareness, followed by a school marathon. I had substitution duties in classes 10G and 9H and assisted with serving the noon meal. My concern teacher needed my allotted fourth-period class, so I supported her with other tasks. We finished early, and I left the school by 1:30 p.m. It was fulfilling to engage in both teaching and school events today.
